Objective:

Keep learning things that will help with a future career in Engineering, Sales, and Product Development. Obtain position that allows for learning and growth through solving problems and challenges.

Professional Summary:

Mechanical Engineer and Professional Ski Instructor who has worked in the energy industry via oil, gas, and solar design/installation. I have worked on service rigs, hydraulic fracturing crews, and my last position was with a shale gas operator in the Appalachian Basin of Pennsylvania. This has provided a good understanding of the entire exploration and production work flow, and a higher perspective on oil and gas field operations through conventional and unconventional resource development.

I would like to continue working in oil and gas when the right opportunity becomes available or presents itself. My main focus would be on enhanced recovery in shale oil and gas plays. A company who would like to try an alternative to fracturing their well should contact me about this exciting opportunity. My love for energy does not end with oil and gas, but also includes capturing wind and solar. Recently I installed a small solar array on the south side of my house, and hope to market installations to other residential and commercial users.

Programming has also captured my interest. This happened when working with software in oil and gas, and now days I spend time pursuing web development. I have deployed a few websites that are listed below.

Engineering Experience:

Petroleum Engineer

In the summer of 2006 I started an internship in and around Houston, Texas. This experience solidified my desire to pursue Petroleum Engineering. Graduating college in 2007, I moved to Grand Junction, Colorado to pursue my dream of Petroleum Engineering by working for Halliburton Energy Services as a field engineer for their hydraulic fracturing crews. After the recession I moved back east and worked for Seneca Resources performing work related to production equipment specification, hydraulic fracturing, and plugging and abandonment (P&A). It was also during this time when my interest in programming peaked due to the heavy use of software and computers in the workplace to capture and analyze job data.

07/2007 to 01/2009 Halliburton Production Enhancement/Hydraulic Fracturing Engineer

Worked as the field engineer overseeing hydraulic fracturing operations onsite. Ensure job quality, and that jobs were performed efficiently, safely, and to specification. Inventory of proppant, calibration of the sand screws and chemical additives to meet specifications. Other projects included work on Wil-loc fittings to replace hammer unions, clean side dirty side fluid density to find true proppant concentration, and heat exchanger calculations for slickwater pumps.

07/2010 to 10/2014 Seneca Resources Completions Engineer Marcellus/Utica Shale Pennsylvania

Worked as the field engineer overseeing hydraulic fracturing operations onsite. Ensure job quality, and that jobs were performed efficiently, safely, and to specification.

10/2014 to 02/2016 Seneca Resources Intervention Engineer focusing primarily on P&A operations

Started Seneca's Plugging and abandonment program of legacy and vertical Marcellus wells. These operations also included the plugging of a few horizontal wells where drilling and casing problems prevented sucessful completions. The Upper Devonian plugging program was the bulk of the work load, with a program to plug 50 wells per fiscal year and keep the price per P&A below $50kUSD per well on average.

07/2018 to Present www.fracturecapture.com Company to offer digital services to Oil and Gas Companies who are looking to manage their digital data and streamline their reporting and processes

In 2011 I developed a Microsoft Access database to capture stage data from the hydaulic fracturing jobs, and diseminate the stage information via email with treatment plots and other information attached for maximum transparency to all stake holders. This also made post job reporting a breeze since all of the critical information was stored in a structured database rather than scattered in various spreadsheets. www.fracturecapture.com is the continuation of this software project, with the exceptiont that it will be better, much better since it uses a webapp interface rather than Access.

Engineering Internship

While in High School I applied, interviewed, and was accepted for the Co-op program which worked closely with Delphi Thermal Systems in Lockport, NY to provide work and educational opportunities for juniors and seniors who were accepted into the program. The group accepted was small, and consisted of students from two counties.

We would spend a week working in the plant directed by a supervisor, and helping with engineering projects. Most of these projects were heavily focused on leen, time studies, and inventory management.

Websites and Programming

Programmer and Product Developer

My goal was to learn how to program in order to create automated robotic systems for agriculture and surveying work. Although a bit side tracked from this goal, I have become a more adept programmer, and have created a few websites to gain a better understanding of programming.

I still plan on developing the robotics systems using networking and distributed web servers to keep the robots on task.

Here is the listing of websites developed:

www.skischooldirector.com

Ski School Director is a website to allow for email corespondence with clients, friends, and other ski instructors. Designed to build student report cards, letting the student know how they are doing, Ski School Director aims to maintain relationships while diseminating information in a modern fashion.

www.fracturecapture.com

Fracture Capture is currently a sales landing page for Oil and Gas consulting or information technology work. The idea is based on my Completions Engineering work at Seneca Resources. In charge of the Hydraulic fracturing operations and subsequent reporting, I built a Microsoft Access Database to capture the stage data and then make the post job reporting a simple button click.

www.busdriverhours.com

Bus Driver Hours was a website built for the Bradford Area School District. It is designed to track field trips and make allocation of the hours more equitable among the drivers. The design is robust, and it is my hope that other school districts or bus companies will want to subscribe to this webapp to ease their workflow in dealing with field trips

www.nearestsitter.com

Nearest Sitter is the first website that I built. The code needs to be refactored, but the overall idea is to use it as a matching service based on geolocation, transparency (reviews), and capitalism from the ability for the customer and the service provider to price the situation in a manner that works best for both parties.

www.carbonresearchinstitute.com

Carbon is going to be the most important element as we transition to using nanotubes and graphene. While my research on these subjects is limited, I hope to track with progress and eventually create a method for mass production of either graphene sheets or long nanotubes. This site still needs to be constructed, but it will contain non detailed notes, and eventually have options to buy products once processes are put into place.

Fastener Sealing System “Finally! A fastener that lasts as long as what is fastened! ”

Seeking a licensee for a new sealing system that will improve the life of penetrating fasteners seals.
